We all have aspirations to get un-stuck in some aspect of our lives.  Some have ambitious career goals or entrepreneurial dreams; others strive to be in better health or physical shape. Some are looking for love. And others aren’t clear on what they want from life; they just feel deeply they are meant for more.

In a perfect world, you set goals, banish limiting beliefs, take massive action and move your life forward in the direction of big success. But what happens when the everyday to-do list gets too long to see your way clear to make a change? When you’re experiencing crushing exhaustion and stress from your day-to-day life and the idea of piling on one more thing becomes too overwhelming to handle? When “surviving” has overcome “thriving” as the current mood and the “can is kicked down the road” for tackling big goals? When pulling yourself together each day is all you’ve got?

What is Integrative Health?

Integrative Health is a holistic approach to accessing the root cause of chronic dis-ease by combining conventional and alternative medicine practices, consulting Functional Medicine Lab results, addressing lifestyle factors, and restoring deep imbalance in the body.

Your brain and your body are intimately connected; if you are experiencing systemic inflammation, nervous system dysregulation and poor mitochondrial function, you will not feel well nor have the energy you need to do the work to move your life forward. Addressing physical health is as important to mental health as directly addressing mental health issues in a conventional manner. Unfortunately, due to outdated practices and an environment rife with toxins, stress, poor nutrition and quick fixes, our society as a whole has moved from homeostasis to chronic dysfunction, and the result of that dysfunction is exhaustion and a state of mentally feeling unwell.

Why is Integrative Health necessary to get un-stuck?

We live in a toxic world.  Our soil has been stripped of nutrients, stress is at an all time high and obesity rates have skyrocketed. Our microbiome has been ravaged by medications and the standard western diet, our adrenal glands are shot and our brains have been programmed to expect the worst and be on high alert. All of this equates to crippling inflammation in the body and brain. It’s no wonder we, as a population, are sick, exhausted, depressed and anxious.

Mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell in every living organism, generating most of the energy needed for cellular processes and ATP conversion. In order to feel well, your mitochondria must be optimally functioning. Neuroinflammation (inflammation of the nervous tissue) impacts levels of fatigue, brain fog, mental health issues, cognition, attention, sleep, headaches and automatic negative thoughts and can range in severity of symptoms. The relationship between mitochondrial function and inflammation/neuroinflammation is complex and dynamic, with both having an effect on the other resulting in a negative feedback loop, exacerbating symptoms until you’re able to get yourself off the roller coaster and onto a path of healing.

Because neuroinflammation and poorly functioning mitochondria are the root cause of so many undesired ailments, talk therapy and coaching will only go so far to move you forward overcoming obstacles to accomplish big things.

The good news is, by addressing nutritional deficiencies, gut based issues, inadequate diet, stress management, and environmental toxins, neuroinflammation can be reversed, readying your nervous system for the deep work of therapy and coaching. Only then will the path to moving your life forward be paved with smoother terrain.

What is Transformational Coaching?

Transformational Coaching is a process aimed to help people make significant changes in their lives through the examination of beliefs, purpose, internal messaging, identity, core needs, and values. Goals are set and actionable items are explored, helping individuals to re-write their reality and transform their lives. Transformational coaching is present and future-focused, departing from traditional talk therapy.

Why is Transformational Coaching vital to getting un-stuck?

The average person has approximately 60,000 thoughts per day, with 75-80% of them being negative and a whopping 95% of them being repetitive. That’s 2500 thoughts per hour, or 42 thoughts per minute. If 75-80% are negative, then you’re telling yourself 33 negative thoughts every minute, with 32 of them being repetitive. Consciously or unconsciously, you are quite literally telling yourself something negative and detrimental once every two seconds. Given those statistics, the fact that anyone in our society gets out of bed everyday is nothing short of remarkable.

It’s also terrifying and eye opening when we consider why so many of us feel deeply stuck. We all have blind spots. Even the most self aware among us is influenced by limiting beliefs and outdated stories on a runaway train loop in our brains. It’s those that are able to allow the coaching to work deeply to rewrite that negative script that are able to transcend confines of circumstance. THAT is the beauty of coaching.

When you combine Integrative Health with Transformational Coaching, something magical happens; you are able to set your dreams and aspirations into motion to truly change your life.
